Welcome to Larkfields Junior School
I can’t believe I have nearly completed my first half term here at Larkfields. It has been so busy with such a wide variety of different learning taking place. We have had great success in the football remaining undefeated in the league and cup games - both girls and boys teams. This morning we have some children out cross country running and at a handball competition later on this week.
We have started work on developing our 4R muscles, beginning with Resilience where all children have completed the managing distractions lessons. They are starting to really grow this muscle in their learning. We will be looking at the perseverance muscle after half term.
I would like to thank you for all the support you have shown the school, we have over 40 reading volunteers each week, many supporters for our sporting events and the high level of home learning that I have seen is all massively appreciated. Please continue the good work!
On Thursday 15th November I am holding a parent working party so that I can get as much input from parents as possible about shaping the school's future. If you can come along it would be great to see you all – 9am in the hall.
Don’t forget you can follow what is happening in school on our Twitter feed @larkfieldjunior.
This week our Achiever assembly will not only feature our weekly achiever but also the half termly head teacher award and the Take Care awards which have been selected by the school council reps. Each class will have 4 Take Care awards one for each area (Learning, The Environment, Each Other and Ourselves).
After half term we will be looking forward to our Christmas events including the year 3/4 production, Carols outside, Christmas dinner (wearing Christmas jumpers) and the panto!
I am also looking to update our hash tag which this term has been #be kind always, the children have made lots of great suggestions so watch this space to find out what it will be.
Have a great half term and please remind your children to stay safe if they go Trick or Treating or watch fireworks.
